Art around the World

Indonesia

For those artists that struggle to find inspiration for your next painting or piece of art, these articles will be for you. I hope to show you a range of different styles and techniques used around the world. I have traveled to many different countries and I always find it helpful to look at other artist’s work. Art is everywhere, whether it’s in galleries, hanging on the walls in your hotel, famous local artists or the unknown street artist, I get inspired.

Next time you go on holiday make a special effort to observe what’s around you and see where your thoughts take you. You never know, they could lead you to create the next The Starry Night by Van Gogh or The scream by Edvard Munch.

Indonesia, situated in South East Asia is an archipelago comprising of 17,500 islands. It has a rich history of Dutch colonialism, natural disasters and turbulent political and economical transformations. Despite this struggle it accomplished Indonesian independence and developed into a stable independent nation full of creativity and diversity. Today, it thrives with modern art, in particular emphasizing Balinese culture .

Take a look and tell me what you think?
