Find great information about contemporary art fairs and art events in Miami and Miami Beach between December 3 – 8, 2013. There are twenty art fairs, spread out between Miami Beach, Miami’s Wynwood Art District and Downtown Miami.
With thousands among the art elite pouring into Miami and Miami Beach each year to visit the star attraction and its numerous satellite fairs, Art Fair Miami Beach is one of the most prestigious art events in the world. Prestigious international galleries set up shop throughout the city to court collectors with deep pockets, showing off works by superstar artists.
Art Basel Miami Beach, is the largest art fair of the week featuring more than 250 galleries, and it’s the main reason so many satellite art fairs are around. It’s located at the Miami Beach Convention Center, and Design Miami is right next to them. Both of these major art fairs should be visited, plus you can purchase a combined admission ticket at a reduced price. With so much going on it’s easy to miss the actual beach, but Scope Miami and Untitled. have solved this. They are located right on the sands of Miami Beach, so there’s no excuse for not enjoying an ocean view or two.
Art Miami is another great art fair, and it’s been around for years. It’s the largest and oldest art fair and it’s located in Miami’s Wynwood Art District. You’ll also find Context, Miami Project, Spectrum, Brazil Art Fair and Red Dot in the same area. Most of Miami’s art galleries and major private art collections are also located in Wynwood. You can easily spend four days in the area and still miss a lot. It is not to be missed.
